Mother: Regula Corvus, Healer of Mithras

Title(s): Thik Slayer, Gladiator, Dragon Slayer, Legatus of the 11th Legion

Siblings?: Tacitus Corvus the Man of Family

Hometown/city: Fortunetes Home of Fortune

Weapon of Choice: Gladius

Personality: Honorable yet can be diciplined when wants to. Will never take a kill unless needed. Keeps to honor and won’t be beaten without a fight.

Background:

When Quintus was born, his mother, the healer, called almighty Mithras to bless him with all of the qualities of a good soldier. However, Mithras wasn’t one with Hecate. So instead of blessing him, he killed the boy. The boy was cursed to walk the Earth as a ghost. Unseen by the ordinary people of Rome’s great Empire.

The Healer had killed herself in grief.

Mithras decided to travel to Mercury to ask if he could send a message to Pluto or maybe even Hecate.

In Mithras’s citadel stood the boy, Quintus, listening to Mithras talk to his servants. He heard that Mithras was planning on bringing Quintus Valerius Corvus back to life.

Mithras asked Pluto and Hecate this. “Hello fellow gods. I bring urgent news of a boy with a great destiny. He has died because of my magic and I need to bring him back to the living world. Please help me. Mithras”

Pluto and Hecate decided to help. Pluto using the powers of the underworld, Hecate using the powers of magic. With this they brought Quintus back to life. However, they did not make him grow up like an ordinary person nor did they make him a man of free will. They made him … A slave. And even Hecate’s magic was “rusty” and it made him live on for 5x as long as most humans. So he spent 100 years working on slave farms. Without dying but surviving. The owners of the slave farms were astonished. The children almost fainting that he had lived this long without dying.

Of course he had a few of the qualities that Mithras was supposed to give him. He was good with a sword. He was intelligent. However, he was missing the most important thing of a soldier, discipline.

Eventually, the slave farmers thought he was immortal so sold him to a gladiator school. He became the best the school had ever made a warrior and easily beat everyone else. So of course he became the gladiator of that school.

He was sent to the almighty coliseum in Roma to fight against the mightiest Gladiator’s in the Roman Empire. That’s where he met a man that was very important. The Emperor himself. Watching Quintus fight and defeat every opponent.

That was when he found the first real challenge. A man that was blessed by Mars. His name: Michael but some people called him Nitroblaze. Michael and Quintus fought for hours and hours getting a few nicks to the skin and a few feints to scare. But none seemed to get the upper hand so the Emperor declared the duel a tie. And that was the first real tie in a Gladiatorial battle. They were both given the titles “Gladiator” and granted to be free men.

That was when we became friends but had to split their ways. He travelled to Gaul to fight all the Barbarians as a freelance man whilst Quintus travelled to Fortunetes. However, on the way to Fortunetes he was ambushed by bandits. He managed to fight them off but had to escape to an Outpost called Outpost Stragaeth. He discovered X~Legion there as they were the Legion defending the Outpost. He realised that the Bandits that attacked him were the Eastern Barbarians. After he saw the Legion’s great power with some other people like him who were also blessed by Mithras or Mars. Like Andrew, the Legatus of the Legion, and like Blackout, Tribunus of the Legion. He joined the Legion. After a long service he got some leave and took that opportunity to get to Fortunetes.

When his leave was over he travelled back to Stragaeth and discovered that they were moving outposts straight away. They were headed to Outpost Aurelia, a much easier place to defend. He spent a lot of time in X~Legion and he even became an official part of the Legion there. The Caesar: Aelianus, or Legio-X called him Blackpig. Well Caesar told Andy (Andrew) to move the Legion back to Stragaeth.

When Quintus and the Legion got back to Stragaeth Quintus also joined the 11th Legion and became a Legatus and back in X~Legion he got promoted to the rank Legio.

However, he was to lose that rank because of an event that will change all of his life.

At the battle of Yallia, he became known as Thik Slayer, short for Thismonian Slayer, because he slayed the second most Thismonians after a man that people called Spectrox. But since the Legion was cutting heavy losses and Spectrox stepped out of battle. Our leader told them to retreat. That was when several of them tried to stop that order, including me. He managed to scale the wall, kill all of the Thismonians guarding it, assassinated 6 people in the hallway to the throne and took the flag all by himself. He sent a messenger that he kidnapped, to the rest of the legion, at Yallia, requesting backup. However, he was soon defeated and thrown out of the gate. When he came back to the Legion, he left despite his destiny.

He joined the Barbarians, honing his fighting skills, fighting against the legion. However, soon he started forgiving the members of X~Legion for their retreat at Yallia for he realised that it was all for honor. That was when he walked to Yallia, which was then in control of the Mindalurians. His father joined him at an age which was not understandable and they fought, together, against the Mindalurians. That was when his father was slain. He mourned over his loss and joined back into X~Legion climbing the ranks to Decanus.

Trying to become a Praetorian. Gaining discipline the hard way. And he still lives as the Non-commissioned-officer called Storadow. He forever waits till Mithras will call him back to the kingdom of soldiers.

May he serve in Mithras’ name.
